Forget the stalks, I’m a real fan of food that has been trimmed. I love the use of proper plates and bowls.
These strawberries were picked from our garden today. Stalks removed and the fruit cut into similar sizes and a light sprinkle of white sugar. I add the sugar like you would add salt to veggies. All food needs to be seasoned. Strawberries are no different and the sugar brings out the sweetness in the fruit.
I then cover and leave at room temperature for about an hour.
Serve with whipped cream, I used whipping cream, not double.
