An organic way to protect your food crops from slugs
With all this much needed rain comes the unwanted slugs and snails. Important for the food chain but sadly not ours.
As an organic gardener I have needed to find an affordable but safe for the environment way of control.
I have cut slits into the top of a lidded food container, big enough for the largest slug.
To it I’ve mixed in a jar 1 cup of water, 1tsp of sugar, 1tsp of white flour and 1tsp of dried yeast. Shake then add to the plastic container.
Place lid on and put in the garden.

As you can see less than 24hrs and plenty have taken the plunge.
After a few days tip onto compost heap on in green waste bin
