Leftovers omelette

I’ve two spicy sausages and a bowl of cooked potatoes. This is the tasty meal I made for the two of us. Into a large frying pan I added a good glug of sunflower oil. A quick and nutritious meal for two with only one pan to wash !!

Filo rolls

Well I was somewhat hungry this afternoon, which made for a creative result in the evening meal department!! Filo pastry is one of those things best bought ready made. It’s very easy to use and comes in a roll, which can be found in the refrigerator department of any sizeable food store. To use, you’ll […]

Jamming

Jam making season is here. Shortages of food choices continues here in the UK. It’s not because we have a food shortage but a shortage of skilled people available to produce or deliver the goods. This has meant a shortage of supply in preserving sugar. White granulated sugar is available and now having had to […]

Mixed vegetable medley

Spring with a tinge of winter

Out in my garden today the sun beat down making me ‘slightly’ think spring was here. A small step into the shade and the temperature drop was almost fridge like. Last weekend we had snow. Yet Saturday morning it was so warm I built up a sweat while litter picking. The long days are not […]

Multi root veg mash

Just chop up a selection of root vegetables. Here I’ve used potatoes, carrots and parsnips. Cut the more dense veggies smaller than the ones that will be quicker to cook. Cover with salty water and boil until soft. Drain, add butter and mash

We are what we eat

Our bodies are made of what we feed them. Never before has it been so important to look after our bodies than now. What we put in will be the fuel for energy, regeneration of cells and our bodies defences system. I try and make all our food from scratch. To make one’s food is […]
